# iOS Shortcuts for Jam

> Start a Jam recording from anywhere on your iPhone using Control Center, Siri, widgets, or the Action Button.

### Add Jam Widget to Control Center

**What it does:** Adds a strawberry button to your Control Center that immediately starts a Jam recording.

**Why it's useful:** Control Center is accessible from anywhere on iOS. Perfect for capturing critical moments without switching contexts.

**Setup steps:**

    Swipe down from the top-right corner (or up from the bottom on older devices).

  <Step title="Enter edit mode">
    Long-press on any empty space in Control Center.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add a Control">
    Tap **Add a Control** (plus button).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add Jam">
    Find Jam and tap the **+** button.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm the shortcut">
    The strawberry icon now appears in your Control Center.
  </Step>

**To use:** Swipe down from the top-right corner (or up from the bottom on older devices), tap the strawberry button, then tap **Start Broadcast** to begin recording.

### Hey Siri, Record a Jam

**What it does:** Voice-activated shortcut that opens Jam's recording screen.

**Why it's useful:** Hands-free activation when you're mid-workflow or demonstrating an issue to someone else.

**Setup steps:**

    iOS will ask for permission the first time. Tap **Allow**.

    Tap **Start Broadcast** to begin.

### Add Jam Widget to Homescreen

**What it does:** Places a widget on your homescreen to start and stop recordings without opening the app.

**Why it's useful:** Essential for dedicated test devices where you're constantly switching between recording and testing. Keeps Jam controls visible and accessible.

**Setup steps:**

### Record a Jam with your Action Button

**What it does:** Associate the "Record a Jam" shortcut with your Action Button.

**Why it's useful:** Record a Jam with one button press, from any screen.
