You can use Jam to quickly capture a screenshot of a bug – along with all the technical details engineers need to troubleshoot and fix bugs. Unlike other screenshot tools, Jam’s screenshot tool is purpose-built for product, engineering, support, and QA teams.

What gets captured automatically

When you take a screenshot with Jam, the following technical diagnostics are automatically included:
  • Console logs
  • Fully inspectable network requests
  • URL
  • Timestamp and country
  • Device, OS, and browser
  • Viewport size
  • Network speed
  • Full-page context of any cropped screenshot

Take a screenshot

1

Open the Jam extension

Click the Jam icon in your browser toolbar to open the extension.
2

Select the screenshot tool

Choose Capture screenshot from the extension panel.
3

Capture the screen

  • Full-screen screenshot: Click once anywhere on the page to capture the entire viewport.
  • Cropped screenshot: Click and drag to select the specific area you want to capture.
4

Annotate (optional)

After the screenshot is captured, use the annotation tools to mark up the image.
5

Create and share

Click Create to generate a shareable link. Jam packages the screenshot and all technical diagnostics into one link and copies it to your clipboard.
When you take a cropped screenshot, Jam also captures a full-page screenshot and displays both side-by-side in the Jam report. This helps engineers understand exactly where on the page the cropped area came from. To exclude the full-page screenshot, deselect that option in the draft window before clicking Create.
